As Bike Week begins in Daytona Beach this weekend, motorists here Friday saw a grim reminder of the need to watch for motorcycles on the road. Two motorcyclists from the Fort Lauderdale area were killed at 12:50 p.m. Friday while they were stopped on the right shoulder of northbound Interstate 95 a few miles north of Indrio Road, said the Florida Highway Patrol. Authorities were waiting Friday night to release the names of the men pending notification of their families. Authorities said a Miami driver in a Saturn crossed both northbound lanes and crashed into the pair, killing both men and tearing one of the motorcycles in half. The driver of the car, Dominque Brice, 24, of Miami, was treated for minor injuries at Indian River Medical Center.... cont...

Three men were killed and a fourth man was hospitalized Thursday morning after their car fell from a ramp on Interstate 95 and plummeted about 50 to 75 feet onto the highway below, WPLG-TV reported. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Jaguar was traveling north on I-95 at about 3:30 a.m. As the vehicle was attempting to exit onto State Road 84, it clipped the wall of the ramp and fell over, landing in the northbound lanes of I-95 below. The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that three people were killed in an early morning crash on Interstate 95 in the Fort Lauderdale area. A total of 4 passengers were traveling in a car that FHP says was trying to exit on a ramp on State Road 84 when it clipped a side wall and fell onto I-95 below. All four passengers were ejected. The only survivor in the crash was taken to the hospital in critical condition.... cont...
