jail Sunday after six children were thrown from the bed of his pickup
truck and hurt during a crash on Interstate 595, authorities said.

Friends of a woman killed Sunday in a one-car
crash in Boca Raton will honor her at services on Thursday. Caitlyn
Lockard, 18, was killed when the driver, Michael C. Wilkerson, 21,
lost control of his 2006 Toyota on Interstate 95 early Sunday, south
of Glades Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Ms. Lockard,
who lived in Fort Lauderdale with her mother, was thrown from

Troopers are investigating a one-car wreck early
Sunday morning on Interstate 95 in Boca Raton that injured a Deerfield
Beach man and killed his passenger. Michael C. Wilkerson, 21, of
Deerfield Beach, was driving south just after midnight when he veered
to the left then back over to the right, driving on the grassy
shoulder and overturning his 2006 Toyota south of Glades Road, the
Florida Highway Patrol said. His passenger, Caitlyn E. Lockard, 18, of

A Boca Raton motorcyclist died early Thursday morning
after a vehicle collision ejected him into the path of another car.
Jerome Raymond Campbell, 28, was heading north on Interstate 95 at
about 2:30 a.m. just south of Oakland Park Boulevard, said Sgt. Mark
Wysocky, a spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol. Campbell was
speeding in the outside lane when his motorcycle struck a truck from
behind, according to authorities. The crash ejected Campbell from his
2004 Yamaha bike into the center lane, where a Ford Mustang driven by
Alq Gurley of Pembroke Pines struck him as he was lying on the road.....

Two Montreal-area residents were among three people
killed early Sunday morning in a crash on northbound Interstate 95 in
Delray Beach, Fla., about 45 kilometres north of Fort Lauderdale. The
driver of the car, Hampstead resident Boris Rapoport, 54, his mother,
Westmount resident Renée Rapoport, and Robert Rutman, of Boca Raton,
Fla., were killed on impact when the white Mercedes Benz they were
driving slammed head-on into a Pontiac Sedan. Boris Rapoport's wife,
Angela Pagliuca, was transported to a hospital and in stable condition

Tamarac man shot by FHP trooper on I-95 arrested ...

Authorities on Friday said they have arrested the man
who was shot by a Florida Highway Patrol trooper during rush hour
Thursday afternoon. Jarrett B. Desilva, 20, of Tamarac, faces a charge
of fleeing at a high speed while authorities had siren and lights
activated, according to officials. Deputies are monitoring Desilva as
he recovers at North Broward Medical Center. His bond has been set at
$3,500. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, which is
investigating the incident, identified the shooter as Trooper Barry
Radanof, 47, a 19-year-veteran. According to the complaint affidavit,
Radanof had tried to flag Desilva off the road for driving in
Interstate 95's High Occupancy Vehicle lane Thursday afternoon....

Authorities on Wednesday morning released the
identities of the two women killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash,
as well as two other injured victims. Maretsa Pabon, 43, of Hollywood,
died at the scene on the Interstate 95 exit ramp to Interstate 595.
The 18-year-old driver of the SUV, Whitney A. Manley, of Fort
Lauderdale, died after she was transported to a hospital, said
officials. The 2000 Ford Explorer was traveling north on I-95 at 4:45
a.m. when it crashed at the entrance ramp to I-595, also hitting a
portable sign board on the side of the road, said officials....

A Florida Department of Transportation Road Ranger was
injured in a crash Tuesday morning while helping a motorist on
Interstate 95. The crash occurred at about 10:45 a.m. in the
southbound lanes of I-95, just south of Davie Boulevard, involving two
cars and a Road Ranger vehicle in the right shoulder. Road Ranger
Eduardo Robles is in serious, but stable condition, at Broward General
Medical Center. He suffered a broken leg, along with cuts and bruises,
according to Guy Francese, project manager for the FDOT Road Rangers....

FHP Searches For i-95 Hit-And-Run Driver ...

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to search for a
driver who cut a woman off, causing her to fatally crash into a
signpost. Authorities said 19-year-old Stevie Nicole Painter of
Oakland Park was driving to her boyfriend's home in Davie when she
crashed into a signpost at about 8:20 p.m. Sunday. Painter was
traveling southbound on the Interstate 95 exit ramp to Interstate 595.
She was in the left lane when a dark-colored, newer-model Chrysler PT
Cruiser or Chevrolet HHR quickly switched from the right lane to the
left....
